Event details
The Mountain to Fountain is a road race in Fountain Hills, Arizona, held on Sunday, March 22, 2026. The event offers two distances:
- 15K - 9.4 miles, point-to-point from McDowell Mountain Regional Park to Fountain Park
- 5K - 3.1 miles, two laps around Fountain Park
Courses are USATF certified. The 15K total elevation gain is 297 feet with a maximum elevation of 1,964 feet. The 5K total elevation gain is 242 feet with a maximum elevation of 1,623 feet. Course record times are listed for each distance and gender.
Course and logistics
The 15K route begins at McDowell Mountain Regional Park and finishes in front of the Fountain Hills water fountain. Aid stations for the 15K provide water and portable restrooms at mile 2.25, mile 4.15, mile 6, mile 7.8, and at the finish. The 5K follows streets around Fountain Park with water and restrooms available at the finish and on the lap.
There is a team competition for the 15K where teams of four or more score with their top four finishers; one scoring team member may win their weight in beer. Time limits apply: 2.5 hours for the 15K and 1.5 hours for the 5K. Registered participants receive a t-shirt (while available), finisher medal, bib number, post-race food, and one beer for participants 21 and over.
