Course and format
The 100-mile race is a trail ultramarathon that starts and finishes at Rolling View Recreation Area. The course follows the Mountains to Sea Trail on the south side of Falls Lake and runs beside the lake in several places, including multiple bridge crossings. The route is approximately 90% single-track trail and has a listed total elevation gain of 8,000 feet.
The 50-mile course follows the 100-mile route for an initial 50K out-and-back, returns through Rolling View, and then completes an additional 10-mile out-and-back toward the dam. The 50K begins the same way as the 100 and 50-mile courses and consists of a westward out-and-back that starts and ends at Rolling View Recreation Area.
