Course, aid stations, and race details
Most of the courses use technical dirt trails and non-technical fire roads with long, steep hills. Hiking poles are permitted. Courses are marked with colored ribbon, laminated signs, and ground arrows; blue ribbons indicate wrong-way trails. Printable course maps, turn-by-turn directions, aid station cutoffs, and elevation profiles are provided.
Aid stations offer a variety of foods and beverages (for example, chews, Stroopwafels, trail mix, potato chips, PB&J, Coke, ginger ale, water, and Skratch Hydration). Gu energy gels are not permitted at aid stations on GGNRA property such as Muir Beach. This is a cupless event; runners must carry their own bottle or reusable cup and drop bag service is not available. There is an 8.5 hour time limit for the 50K and 30K. Parking is available in the Stinson Beach Day Use Area and is free. The 50K has a cash prize purse for overall top three (1st $300, 2nd $200, 3rd $100). All finishers receive a custom medal; 50K finishers also receive a pint glass. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
