New England Green River Marathon
The New England Green River Marathon is a scenic and USATF-certified race held annually from Marlboro, Vermont to Greenfield, Massachusetts. The course follows the Green River, passing through an 1870s covered bridge and finishing under maple trees at Greenfield Community College. Known for its rolling, downhill terrain with a net 1,400-foot drop, it is ranked as the fastest marathon course in New England and 17th fastest in the U.S., making it ideal for personal bests and Boston qualifying times.
The event also supports environmental causes, offering a fundraising option for the Connecticut River Conservancy to promote clean water and healthy habitats. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
Always double-check with the organizer's website – things can change, and we might have sprinted past a few details!
