Oakland Hills Trail Run
The Oakland Hills Trail Run, held at Redwood Regional Park in Oakland, California, offers three challenging distances: 10K, half marathon, and 35K ultramarathon. Set in a serene redwood forest with towering 150-foot coast redwoods, the course features technical dirt trails and fire roads with significant elevation gains (up to 4,550 feet for the 35K). The park's diverse ecosystem includes evergreens, chaparral, and grasslands, home to wildlife like golden eagles and deer.
The event is professionally chip-timed, cupless to reduce waste, and supported by well-stocked aid stations. It accommodates up to 330 runners and encourages carpooling for parking at the nearby Chabot Space and Science Center. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
