Course and logistics

Terrain features include mud holes, cow patties in fields, light swamps, muddy streams, and rolling pine forest. The course includes three water stations at heavy carry obstacles. The 5-mile trail run is mostly wooded and has two water stops.
Packet pickup opens in the morning and includes a custom event bib and a timing strap that must be worn on the ankle and returned at the finish. There is a hose station for rinsing, on-site food vendors, and finisher beer and wine for those 21 and over. Elite athletes must show 100% obstacle completion for championship points and to qualify for prize payouts. Elite podium prizes vary by field size, with awards listed for 0-50 and 51-100 elite runners. Volunteers can exchange a 4-hour shift for a reduced $2 race entry or a $40 donation to a group.
