Event overview
Pandora's Box of Rox takes place on April 25, 2026 at Reveille Peak Ranch in Burnet, Texas. The event offers multiple trail distances:
- 52.4 mi (double marathon)
- 26.2 mi (marathon)
- 13.1 mi (half marathon)
- 8 mi
- 4 mi
- Youth 1 mi (ages 12 and under, untimed; bib and finisher medal provided)
The full 13.1 mile loop is the base lap: the half marathon is one lap, the marathon is two laps, and the double marathon is four laps. The 8 mile and 4 mile courses use sections of the full loop with defined turnoffs and cutoffs.
Course, logistics and services
The trail passes through meadows, creek crossings, scenic overlooks, and a large granite dome, including exposed granite sections where participants may need to carry water. Course markings include caution tape, arrows, and confidence markers; markings are not color-coded by distance, and signs indicate the correct route at intersection cutoffs. Aid stations are staffed at the start/finish/next-lap location and at JACK A.S.; ROAD A.S. and GATE A.S. provide at minimum water, Tailwind, ice, and snacks. Some unstaffed stations may not have ice all day. Drop bags may be placed at the lake area and at the 360 Bridge/GATE spot; participants must deliver and retrieve their own items. All races are chip timed with ankle-mounted chips that must be worn on the ankle and returned if a runner leaves the course. Pacers are allowed under specified rules; overall awards include top finishers and masters categories. Camping and day-use fees apply at the ranch.
