The PECAN GROVE TURKEY TROT takes place on Thursday, November 27, 2025, in Richmond, TX at 1890 FM 359 Rd, 77406. The event includes the following distances:
- 5K - competitive and non-competitive timed trot, chipped bib provided
- 1 Mile - Kids timed trot, 12 and under, chipped bib provided
- 1 Mile - Adoption awareness walk, no bib
The event site lists on-site amenities such as a kids zone with inflatables, music by a DJ, and a vendor row offering food and drinks. Prizes are listed for all participants, with special prizes for male and female 1st-3rd place in each category. Current base registration prices shown are $20 for the 5K, $10 for the Kids 1 Mile, and $15 for the 1 Mile Adoption Awareness Trot. Prices increase after October 31, 2025.
Charitable purpose and grants
Proceeds support local foster children and adoptive families in Greater Fort Bend County and the Houston area. Funds are used for the Adoptive Family Grant Award Program to assist with adoption-related costs such as attorney fees, state-mandated fees, and court costs. Grant payments are made directly to the invoicing entity. Since 2022, the organizer reports awarding over $200,000 in adoption assistance grants to more than 50 adoptive families and foster children.
