Pi in the Sky
Pi in the Sky is a "FAT ASS" style trail run in Phoenix, AZ. The event is limited to 50 runners and has no entry fee. Registration closes on Mon, Jun 1. The course is an out-and-back totaling 8 miles and finishes at the meeting location.
Course and logistics
Runners will meet at the Hope Bible Church parking lot. The course starts at the footbridge that crosses the 51 Freeway, follows the Dreamy Draw Bikeway, traverses the Phoenix Mountain Preserves and reaches the Piestewa Peak summit before returning to the church. The course will be partially marked at critical junctions and Garmin coordinates will be provided; runners will self-time their runs.
The trails are rocky and often run on technical terrain. There is very minimal shade and much of the route is exposed, so warm conditions are likely in early June. There is no organized aid on course. A water fountain and restroom are available at the Dreamy Draw Trailhead. Each participant is responsible for their own well-being and should submit their final Strava elapsed time for results. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
