- Half marathon (13.1 miles)
Course and race logistics
The route follows paved trail with some dirt, gravel, and over six miles of crushed rock. The half marathon turns near a footbridge over the Cedar River. Marathoners run a double out-and-back; 50K runners use the Landsburg out-and-back for the longer distance. Total mileage for the 50K is listed as 31.16 miles.
A manned aid station is located at the trail crossing near SE 248th and 250th Ave SE (approximate mile 5.5). Water and electrolyte drinks are available on course and runners may refill bottles; cups are not provided except for hot drinks and soup. Finish-line food plans include pizza and typical race snacks. All finishers receive a Pigtails medal, a patch, and a choice of sticker or key fob; additional swag is available for purchase. The race enforces a cutoff and expects runners to be prepared to manage their own needs on the course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
