Rio Del Lago 100 Mile Endurance Run
The Rio Del Lago 100 Mile Endurance Run is a premier ultramarathon held annually in the scenic Sierra Nevada Foothills near Folsom, California, about 40 minutes east of Sacramento. Starting at Beal's Point in the Folsom Lake State Recreation Area, the challenging 100-mile course features diverse terrain including oak woodlands, meadows, single-track trails, paved bike paths, and historic landmarks like the Johnny Cash Trail and No Hands Bridge. With approximately 13,874 feet of elevation gain and loss, runners traverse iconic Northern California trails such as the American River 50 and Way Too Cool 50K.
The event also offers a 50K race option, ideal for first-time ultrarunners or those seeking a personal best. Well-stocked aid stations, enthusiastic volunteers, and a festive post-race celebration enhance the experience. The race is a qualifier for the Western States 100 and emphasizes community, safety, and environmental stewardship. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
