River City Micro Marathon
The event is scheduled for Saturday, January 10, 2026, in Decatur, Alabama at 2901 Point Mallard Circle SE. It includes the following distances:
- Marathon
- 10K
- 5K
Registration fees listed are $85 for the marathon, $45 for the 10K, and $35 for the 5K. Prices increase after October 31, 2025.
Course, timing and awards
The full-distance marathon is run on a micro-marathon loop through Point Mallard Park; marathon runners complete multiple loops of the course. The marathon course is USATF certified and meets B.A.A. standards, which allows athletes to use it to qualify for the Boston, Chicago, or New York marathons. There is a six-hour time limit and a cutoff for runners who do not reach the halfway point within three hours.
Age-group and overall awards are offered for the marathon, 10K and 5K. All marathon finishers receive a finisher medal. Net proceeds from the event go to the Decatur High School Track and Field team to support their upcoming season. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
