Course, aid stations and logistics

The event is a point-to-point race on the Suffolk County Long Island Greenbelt Trail, running from Sunken Meadow to Heckscher State Park. The 50K has roughly 1,200 ft of elevation gain; the 25K has far less. Most climbing occurs in the northern 10 miles. The route includes a mix of trail, some road running, road crossings and bike path. The course will be marked with white blazes on trees and poles and supplemented with pink flagging and arrows.

There are five fully stocked aid stations with Hyle Hydration Fuel and Huma gels plus sandwiches, snacks, candy and fruit. 50K runners may leave labeled drop bags for Aid Station 3 and for the finish. Crews and pacers are allowed but their actions are the runner's responsibility; rule violations can result in disqualification or removal. Parking is at the Heckscher Park finish area; a bus option or drop-off is available to reach the start. The organizer generally does not offer refunds but allows rollovers or transfers; refunds are limited within 14 days of the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
