Course and terrain
The run takes place at North Menan Butte, an extinct volcano formed by eruptions about 10,000 years ago. The course includes a variety of surfaces such as sand, volcanic rock, slick rock, and sagebrush. The route traverses the west and east sides of the butte, follows sections of the rim, and descends through the central area of the volcano. Wildlife may be present along the course.
