Spitfire Ultra Trail Challenge

Spitfire Ultra Trail Challenge, held near Menan, Idaho, at North Menan Butte, an extinct volcano, offers four distance options: 55K, 30K, 12K, and 5K. Runners traverse a dramatic mix of terrain on the volcano's west and east flanks, along the rim, and through its crater heart, with surfaces ranging from sand and volcanic rock to slick rock and sagebrush and the chance of wildlife sightings. The race emphasizes tenacious endurance and character, with the organizer inviting participants to "Run Your Ash Off" and test their mettle in a volcanic setting.
