Spooky Sprint - Greater Chicago (October 18, 2025)
The event takes place in Shorewood, IL at Hammel Woods Route 59 Access (554 Brook Forest Ave). It offers multiple race options:
- Half Marathon
- 10k
- 5k
- 1 Mile (untimed)
- Kids Dash (untimed, ages 10 and under)
- Volunteer then Run
- Virtual Race
Timed events use chip timing with live results. The 1 Mile, Kids Dash, and Virtual events are untimed and do not qualify for age-group awards. Age-group awards for the 5k, 10k, and Half Marathon include overall male and female, masters (40+), and top-three placings in standard age brackets through 80+.
Logistics, amenities, and policies
Packet pickup is available on October 17, 2025 at Road Runner Sports Naperville (2555 W 75th St, Naperville, IL); same-day pickup is also offered before the race. Course maps are published for the 5k, 10k, and a double out-and-back half marathon; courses are subject to change due to permits or other restrictions. Registration packages include a custom bib, designer shirt, and finisher medal for the Half Marathon, 10k, and 5k; the kids dash and 1 Mile include youth shirts or mini bibs as noted. Other event services include free photos, awards, finish-line treats, and an after-party with a costume contest, trick-or-treat aid stations, photo ops, a live DJ, and complimentary food and drinks. Volunteers receive future race entry credits or a gift card option as specified.
