El Trote De Las Calacas

El Trote De Las Calacas, also known as the Skeleton Trot, is a USATF-certified 5K race and walk held annually in Elgin, Illinois. The event starts at the Gail Borden Public Library and features a scenic course through Elgin’s historic northeast neighborhood and along the Fox River bike path. Open to participants of all ages and abilities, the race celebrates community diversity while raising funds for the Gail Borden Public Library District and School District U-46.

Participants receive a goodie bag, a specially designed shirt, and a timed bib, with awards for top finishers across various age groups. Strollers are allowed, but pets are not. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
