Event overview
Strain for the Brain is an annual run/walk held on May 30, 2026 in Milwaukee, WI. It is the 16th edition of the event and honors people diagnosed with brain tumors and their families. Funds raised support brain tumor research, medical treatments, and support programs at Froedtert and the Medical College of Wisconsin; the event has donated over $600,000 to research and has a current fundraising goal of $100,000.

Logistics and race details
Entry fees for the standard events are listed at $30; survivor events have no entry fee. Shirts are unisex cotton; participants who register by noon on May 16 are guaranteed a custom race shirt. Brain cancer survivors will receive gold shirts.
The course has one aid station. The race is chip timed by Silver Circle Sports Events, LLC; walkers are not timed. Team packet pickup is available for teams of five or more, with one designated person able to collect the group’s bibs and shirts. Parking is available on site and along nearby public streets. Refunds are not permitted, but transfers, deferrals, and bib changes are allowed. Pets are not permitted at the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
