About the race
Strides For Scholars is a running and walking event held in Union, Connecticut, featuring a 5K run and a 2-mile walk. The race takes place at Union School, with a point-to-point, downhill 5K course known as the fastest in Connecticut, descending 360 feet through the scenic Yale Forest. The 2-mile walk follows a route down Kinney Hill Road and back.
The event offers ample parking and shuttle service from the finish line to the school. Early registrants receive T-shirts, and proceeds support the Union School Association Scholarship Foundation, which awards scholarships to local high school seniors annually.
