The Sunny Slope 5K Fun Run/Walk is scheduled for Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Oak Road Nature Preserve in Egg Harbor, WI 54209. This is the first annual edition of a no-frills community run/walk; the event will not use bibs or a race timer and will not provide t-shirts or medals. Entry fees are $25 for adults and $5 for children under 17 when registered with a paid adult. Registration opens January 28, 2026. Refunds are not allowed for this event.
Charity and sponsors
All net proceeds from the event will benefit Lakeshore CAP Door County Food Pantry in Sturgeon Bay. The pantry, at 131 S Third Ave, serves Wisconsin residents below 200% of poverty and is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Recent service figures: in 2023 the pantry provided food to 4,960 people (including 1,440 children and 890 seniors); in 2024 it served 6,149 people (including 1,819 children and 1,331 seniors). As of April 22, 2025, the pantry had served 2,048 people in 2025 and may face reduced USDA allocations. Current requested items include soups, tuna, Mac ’n Cheese, Rice Roni, Hamburger Helper, pasta, crackers and cereal.
