About the race
The Tammany Turkey Trot is a Thanksgiving-morning running event in Covington, Louisiana. Organizers offer three options: a 5K Run/Walk, a 5 Mile Run/Walk, and a 1 Mile Fun Run. The course starts just north of downtown Covington, winds through downtown streets lined with moss-draped trees, and passes near St.
Paul’s High School before turning north toward the St. Tammany Courthouse for the finish. The 5 Mile route adds a southern scenic loop past more beautiful homes before rejoining the 5K course and returning to downtown.
