Event overview
The Thanksgiving Stuffing Stomp offers two race distances:
- 5k
- 10k
The event takes place on November 22 at Hains Point, Ohio Drive SW, Washington, DC. Points from the races count toward the Year-Long 5k, 10k, and Back of the Pack Series and toward the Fall Series. A virtual race option is available. Walkers and strollers are welcome.
Course, services, and logistics
The route runs on a paved road around Hains Point alongside the river and is described as flat. Water and Gatorade stations are provided: two stations on the 5k and five stations on the 10k at approximate mile markers. Restrooms are available in facilities around the peninsula. Parking is available around Hains Point.
Runners receive a finisher’s medal, a technical event shirt, and chip timing. T-shirts are guaranteed for runners registered before November 12; extra shirts will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Packet pickup is available at the event and organizers recommend arriving about one hour before the race to check in. There is no on-site race registration.
Awards are given to the top three men and top three women overall, plus 1st and 2nd in age groups from 19 & under through 70+. The event supports Bobbie’s Pit Bull Rescue and Sanctuary, a registered non-profit serving VA, DC, and MD. Live results and runner tracking are provided.
