The Algonquin 50K

The Algonquin 50K is a Delmarva Peninsula trail ultramarathon held in Pocomoke City, Maryland, with start and finish at Milburn Landing in Pocomoke River State Park. The approximately 31-mile course is a modified out-and-back on mostly trail, including single-track and wider horse paths. It’s generally flat, but sandy sections and standing water after rain can add difficulty.

Fully stocked aid stations every 5–6 miles provide water, Tailwind, soda, boiled potatoes, salty snacks, and cake. The event is community-driven and eco-conscious, run by volunteers; finishers receive a handmade ceramic mug, and the top three men and women are awarded. Horses sweep the course for safety.
