The Quest Adventure Run

The Quest! Adventure Run, held in Auburn, California, is a unique and immersive running event combining trail running with a fantasy role-playing game. Participants choose between a 6-mile "Dungeon Dash" or a 16-mile "Knight’s Longmarch," each with secret routes and significant elevation gain. Runners select a character class by rolling a virtual die, which grants special abilities during the race.

The course features hidden "bosses" to find and challenge by scanning QR codes, as well as optional side quests involving riddles and scavenger hunts. Completing challenges and defeating bosses can earn time reductions. The event fosters a playful, adventurous atmosphere, culminating in a final battle against a dragon and rewards including a custom D20 die, a shirt, and a post-run drink.
