Course, services and policies
The course uses a 17.1-mile loop that mixes wooded hard-packed singletrack, open grass, sandy hills, and shell rock gravel roads. Trail composition is listed as about 75% singletrack and 25% gravel or paved surfaces. The 50K course includes about 700 feet of elevation. Routes are marked with flags and signage.
There are four fully stocked aid stations with food, drinks, and medical support. Race services include professional timing, free race videos and photos, a race shirt or hat, and a finisher medal made from metal. Awards are given to overall and masters winners and top finishers in age categories; winners in each overall division receive free entry to the next year’s event. Trekking poles are allowed; pacers are not. Crew access is limited to the start/finish area.
