Race details and logistics
The 5K is a certified course and the 5K race uses chip timing; each race bib contains a timing chip that records elapsed time between the start and finish mats. Packet pickup and late registration are scheduled the day before the event at Mardi Gras Park. Race day registration is also available at Mardi Gras Park.
Awards are given for overall male and female, masters, grandmasters, senior grandmasters, wheelchair, and the top three male and female finishers in age groups from 9 and under up to 75-99. Additional special awards include most participants, best Thanksgiving costume, fastest turkey, and fastest wheelchair participant. Registration options listed include a "Stay in Bed" entry with shirt pickup only, a 5K race entry, and a Gobble Wobble fun run entry; published prices are inclusive of mandatory charges.
