2025 Turkey Tumble for Autism - Overview
The event takes place on November 16 in Georgetown and at Fletcher's Boathouse. Distances offered include:
- 5k
- 10k
- Half marathon
Points from these races count toward the 5k, 10k, Endurance and Back of the Pack series, and toward the Fall Series. A virtual race option is available. The event partners with the Organization for Autism Research. Walkers and strollers are welcome. Registered participants receive a finisher’s medal, a technical (Drifit) event shirt, and chip timing.
Course, logistics and services
All courses run on the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal path, a light gravel trail with minimal elevation change and out-and-back routing. The half marathon begins and ends in Georgetown near the Potomac Boat Club; the 5k and 10k begin and end at Fletcher’s Boathouse. The half marathon has a 3:15 completion time limit. Water and aid: the half has seven water stations at approximate mile markers 2.1, 3.8, 4.3, 6.55, 8.8, 9.3 and 11; the 10k has three stations at about 1.55, 3.1 and 4.65 miles; the 5k has one station at about 1.55 miles. Gatorade is available at some stations. Packet pickup is available the day before at Road Runner Sports. There is no official bag check; items may be left at the timing tent but organizers are not responsible. Live results will be posted online and final results with series points are posted the Monday after the race. Awards are given to the top 3 men and women overall and to 1st and 2nd place in listed age groups. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
