The race is set inside White Chapel Memorial Park Cemetery. The course winds through private boulevards lined with American flags and passes monuments dedicated to veterans and service members from conflicts as far back as World War I. The course is described as flat and fast.
The event is a charity fundraiser that benefits Michigan veterans and their families. It has partnered with the Michigan Wounded & Returning Warriors Program, which is part of the American Legion family of organizations. The race has been held as a fundraiser since 2016.
