Event overview
The Wonderful Water Run takes place September 26–27, 2025 in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. The event is organized solely by volunteers and operates as a 501-C3 non-profit. The 2025 edition is the fifth annual run. Race proceeds include a direct contribution to the North Central Conservancy Trust to support protection of Central Wisconsin groundwater and land conservation.
Races, course, and other details
The event uses Pfiffner Pioneer Park on the Wisconsin River as the race venue and the course runs along the Wisconsin River, city trails and roads, around the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, and past Lake Joanis. Distances offered include:
- Half Marathon
- 10K
- 5K
- Kids' Run (1/4 or 1/2 mile)
Virtual options are available for the Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K. The event also includes MTT divisions for the Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K. Packet pickup is offered the evening before and on race morning at Pfiffner Pioneer Park. If in-person races are cancelled, registrations will be transferred to the corresponding virtual events. A group training program for 2025 participants is offered in partnership with Pineries Running Lab. Volunteers are used for race-day and expo roles; volunteers receive a free event t-shirt.
