The Yough Band on the Run 5k takes place on Saturday, April 11, 2026 in West Newton, PA (108 W. Main St, 15089). The event includes these distances:
- 5k run : registration fee $25 (price increases after October 31, 2025)
- 5k walk : registration fee $20 (price increases after October 30, 2025)
Course, awards, and parking
The race starts at the West Newton Trailhead of the Great Allegheny Passage Trail. The course is flat and is an out and back route.
Awards include plaques for the top three finishers for men and women, and medals for the top finisher (men and women) in these age groups: 18 & under; 19-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60+. Medals are also awarded to the top three walkers. The first 75 finishers receive an official race button made by students at The Maryland School for the Blind.
Approximately 50 parking spots are available at the start/finish. Additional parking is available across W Main Street at West Newton Station, across the Youghiogheny River on East Main Street, and at municipal lots on South Water Street and South Second Street.
