American River Parkway Half Marathon 2026
The 18th annual American River Parkway Half Marathon takes place on April 25, 2026, at William B Pond Recreational Area in Carmichael, California. The event is an annual community race that has donated over $400,000 to the American River Parkway. It was the first half marathon held along the American River Parkway and the first spring-time half marathon in the Sacramento region. The Parkway Fund for this event shows $15.50 raised.

The event uses two separate half marathon courses - one for runners and one for walkers. Both courses are described as flat, fast, and shady, and they travel along the American River Parkway through old-growth oak forests, green meadows, and riparian habitat. The runners course has 8 aid stations and the walkers course has 9 aid stations; each aid station provides ice-cold water and Gatorade. Live entertainment includes more than a dozen bands along the courses, a bag pipe processional to start, and a Mariachi band in the finish area. Finishers receive a bottle of ice-cold water and a personalized medal, and lunch options include a meat or veggie Parkway Wrap, fresh fruit, and a cookie. Packet pickup is scheduled at Fleet Feet Sacramento before race day and on race day. Entry fees are non-refundable; entries are transferable for a small fee.
