Black Bear Trail Races
The Black Bear Trail Races, hosted by White Mountain Endurance in Waterville Valley, New Hampshire, offer a challenging and scenic trail running experience. The event features four distances: a demanding 50K with 7,700 feet of elevation gain over iconic 4,000-foot peaks, a 23K course on the oldest maintained trail network in the U.S., a 4-mile run through White Mountain forests and streams, and a 1-mile Bear Cub Fun Run for families. All races start and finish near Waterville Valley Town Square, providing stunning mountain views, aid stations, finisher medals, and post-race snacks.
The 50K requires mandatory gear due to variable mountain weather, and the event promotes sustainability by being cupless. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
