The 50K covers approximately 50 kilometers with about 7,700 feet of cumulative climbing and traverses mountains listed as Snow's Mountain, East Osceola, Osceola, and Tecumseh. The 23K runs on a section of the oldest maintained trail network in the United States and includes three aid stations. The 4 mile course follows singletrack and doubletrack through White Mountain forests and streams with about 600 feet of climbing. The Bear Cub Fun Run is a one mile route intended for families.
Mandatory equipment and policies
50K participants must carry specified mandatory gear; items are checked at bib pickup on race morning. Required items include a headlamp, extra batteries, the ability to carry 2 liters of water, 2 liters of water at the start, 400 calories of food, an emergency or space blanket, and a windbreaker or rain shell. The event is cup less; participants must bring their own reusable hydration system. Aid stations provide hydration and nutrition on the longer courses. Volunteers earn race credits toward future Aravaipa events. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
