The 50K covers approximately 50 kilometers with about 7,700 feet of cumulative climbing and traverses mountains listed as Snow's Mountain, East Osceola, Osceola, and Tecumseh. The 23K runs on a section of the oldest maintained trail network in the United States and includes three aid stations. The 4 mile course follows singletrack and doubletrack through White Mountain forests and streams with about 600 feet of climbing. The Bear Cub Fun Run is a one mile route intended for families.

Mandatory equipment and policies

50K participants must carry specified mandatory gear; items are checked at bib pickup on race morning. Required items include a headlamp, extra batteries, the ability to carry 2 liters of water, 2 liters of water at the start, 400 calories of food, an emergency or space blanket, and a windbreaker or rain shell. The event is cup less; participants must bring their own reusable hydration system. Aid stations provide hydration and nutrition on the longer courses.
