Black Hills Veteran March and Marathon

Website

The Black Hills Veterans March and Marathon is a unique endurance event held in the scenic Black Hills of South Dakota, honoring the sacrifices of U.S. veterans, especially South Dakota military personnel. Participants can choose from several distances: a challenging 110-mile endurance march from Edgemont to Deadwood along the George S.

Mickelson Trail, a full 26.2-mile marathon starting at Rochford trailhead, and a 16-mile Mini March beginning at Dumont Trailhead. The course features picturesque pine forests, converted railroad bridges, and rock tunnels on a crushed limestone and gravel trail. Multiple rest stops provide food, drink, and motivation.

The event supports local veterans organizations and offers a virtual march option. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.

Always double-check with the organizer's website – things can change, and we might have sprinted past a few details!
