XTERRA Deadwood Mickelson is a trail running event in Deadwood, South Dakota, and is part of the XTERRA Trail Run World Series. The event offers multiple race options and lists 232 Trail Run World Championship (TRWC) qualification slots for this edition. Races include the following distances:

Course, facilities and logistics
The course runs on the Mickelson Trail and through the Black Hills, passing an abandoned mining town, railroad trestles, a mountain, large rock formations and a creek before finishing in Deadwood. The marathon course is USATF certified and is listed as a Boston Qualifier. Aid stations are provided approximately every 2 miles with water, Powerade, banana chunks and pretzels; some stations carry M&Ms and there is an extra aid station at mile 25. Portable toilets are placed at specified mile markers on both marathon and half courses.
Packet pick-up is only at the expo; there is no race-day packet pick-up. Shuttle service is provided to start locations and there is no parking at the starts; free parking is noted at the Days of 76 Rodeo Grounds. A medical tent staffed by EMTs is located at the finish and search and rescue volunteers will be on course. The course is open for seven hours. Children under 14 may not run the full or half marathon but may run in the relay. Strollers and dogs are not allowed on the trail. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
