2026 Doggy Dash 5k & 10k
The event takes place on March 29, 2026 at Ida Lee Recreation Center in Leesburg, VA. Distances offered:

The course includes rolling hills and a mix of surfaces: about 70% cross country and 30% paved. The 10k is two laps of the 5k course. Water stations are placed along the route - one on the 5k and three on the 10k at approximate mile markers 1.55, 3.10, and 4.65. Gatorade will be available at some stations. Port-a-johns are on site.
Entry, timing and awards
Points from the event count toward the Year-Long 5k, 10k, and Back of the Pack Series, and toward the Winter Series. A virtual run option is available. Registration fees listed in the event information include: 5k - $30 until March 15 ($35 after), and 10k - $45 until March 15 ($50 after). Price will increase by $5 on race morning. T-shirts are guaranteed to runners registered before March 18; extras may be available after that date. The event is chip timed and finishers receive a medal and a technical drifit event shirt.
Awards are given to the top three men and top three women overall. Age-group awards (1st and 2nd, male and female) are listed for: 19 & under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. Top-three overall finishers are not eligible for age-group prizes. Live results will be posted online and final results with series points will be posted the Monday after the race.
