About the race
Lake James Races at Fonta Flora’s Whippoorwill Farm in Nebo, NC, offer a Half Marathon, 7 Miler, and 5k, starting and finishing at Fonta Flora. Runners explore the trails of Lake James State Park, enjoying scenic views and rolling terrain suited to trail enthusiasts. The Half Marathon is mostly single-track with 1.7 miles of paved road and about 930 feet of elevation gain; the 7 Miler adds about 425 feet; the 5k about 123 feet.
Races are chip-timed, rain or shine, with aid stations on each course. Included are a wooden finisher medal, commemorative shirt, Fonta Flora beer, and a donation to the Lake James Environmental Association. Dogs and strollers are not allowed.
