Loudoun Serenity House - 5K Run/Walk for Recovery
The event is a 5K run or walk that raises funds for Loudoun Serenity House and its Path to Purpose program. The run is organized as a fun run and is not a sanctioned race; there will not be official time keeping for the in-person event. Participants may complete the distance by running, walking, biking, or swimming (at another location) and the event supports both Groups/Teams and individual Fundraisers.
Practical information
The in-person activity takes place at Morven Park in Leesburg, Virginia (17339 Southern Planter Ln). Pre-run packet pickup is available at the Recovery Community Center, 29 N King Street, Leesburg; parking at the nearby Pennington Lot (three blocks away) is noted as free during weekday business hours the week before the run. Organizers will provide water and snacks before the run and a picnic lunch afterward. Dogs are allowed if park rules are followed. The Path to Purpose program referenced in the event materials is a three-year, grant-funded program offering free peer-based mentoring, education, and advocacy services for people recovering from substance use disorder.
