Event overview
Pink Platoon 5K is hosted by the Western North Carolina VA Health Care System and takes place on November 1, 2025, at the Charles George VA Medical Center, 1100 Tunnel Rd, Asheville, NC 28805. The event is a free, family-friendly 5K run/walk that is community-focused and dedicated to those impacted by breast cancer. Participants are encouraged to wear bright pink attire; tutus are mentioned as an example. Logistics and race details
The course is on the Charles George VA Medical Center campus and requires two laps to cover the 5K distance. Registration is required for a bib number and event updates; spots are limited and the listing shows 20 spots remaining. Early packet pick-up is noted as coming soon. On race day there will be final registration, packet pick-up, resource tables, the 5K run/walk, and an awards ceremony. Parking is available in the visitor parking area located after the main entrance to the left.
Awards will recognize overall 1st through 3rd place for male and female participants, and all finishers will receive a customized medal reading "Screen Today. Save Tomorrow." Safety measures include marked course guidance with cones, signs, and marshals, a hydration station on the route, and a reminder to watch for uneven surfaces and follow staff instructions.
