Portage APL Barktober 5K

The Portage APL Barktober 5K & 1-Mile is a fall-themed running event held at Rootstown Community Park/Gracie Fields in Rootstown, Ohio. It features a professionally chip-timed 5K race and a 1-mile run, both conducted on a two-lap course. Participants can also join virtually for either distance.

The event offers festive activities including fall photos with pets amid cornstalks and pumpkins, and a costume contest for dogs and dog-human duos. Awards are given to top male, female, and canine finishers. Proceeds support animal care and medical needs at Portage APL.
