Run The Pines - Tyler State Park is one stop in the Run the Pines Trail Series, a four-race series in East Texas held on natural dirt and forest trails. Course, equipment and awards
The course uses rooty and dirt single-track trails with hilly terrain and about 200 ft elevation gain per 4-mile loop. Historic average temperatures are listed as 40-60 degrees. This is a no-cup race; participants are asked to bring their own water-carrying system. A course map is provided by the organizer.
The event includes aid stations with food and hydration, course marking and support, and on-course photography. Event gear and awards include a Run The Pines Trail Series soft tee, a wooden finisher medal that fits a series plaque, a ruck patch for ruckers meeting the weight minimum, first-place awards for each distance (male and female) and a $200 cash prize for first place in the longest distance.
