Run the Runway - Weyers Cave

Run the Runway in Weyers Cave, VA, is a family-friendly running event held at the Shenandoah Valley Regional Airport. The 2025 edition features a 1K Kids Fun Run for ages 3-12 and a 5K Run/Walk on the airport's taxiway and runway. The course is flat, fully paved, and stroller- and wheelchair-friendly, making it accessible for all fitness levels.

This professionally chip-timed race offers a unique experience of running on an actual airport runway. Proceeds support the Explore More Discovery Museum's aviation exhibit, which provides interactive learning about aviation careers and concepts for children. Pets are not allowed during the event.
