Running the Rose : January 24, 2026

Running the Rose takes place at Tyler State Park (Northwoods Pavilion) in Tyler, Texas on January 24, 2026. The course follows single-track trails through East Texas pine forest with 100-foot tall trees and rolling hills. The looped course structure is based on an 11-mile loop used for several distances.

Distances offered:

  • 7K (1 x 4.3 mile loop)
  • 11 mile (1 x 11 mile loop)
  • 22 mile (2 x 11 mile loop)
  • 54K (3 x 11 mile loop)
  • 108K (6 x 11 mile loop)

Race logistics and rules

This is a cupless race. All runners must carry a hydration device such as a water bottle or hydration bladder. Runners in the longer distances are required to have a headlamp. Aid stations are on the loop at Old Road (mile 3.22), Black Jack (mile 8.07), and the Start/Finish (mile 11). Water, endurance drinks, and typical aid station food will be available; a reusable collapsible cup is sold at packet pick up.

Pacers are allowed only for the 108K and only for the final two loops. Drop bags are permitted for the 108K, 54K, and 22-mile events next to the start/finish aid station. Park day passes are required for participants 13 and older (park entry fee set by Texas Parks & Wildlife). Awards go to top finishers in each listed distance and masters (40+) divisions; the 108K finisher receives a buckle, other finishers receive a medal. Cancellation policy: cancel more than 30 days before the race for 100% race credit, cancel 30-14 days for 50% credit, no refunds or transfers less than two weeks before race day. Bib transfers allowed up until two weeks prior if not sold out; $15 administration fee applies. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
