Sawmill Trail Runs

Website

The Sawmill Trail Runs is an annual trail running event held at Staunton State Park in Pine, Colorado, approximately 40 miles southwest of Denver. Established in 2013 and officially a race since 2017, it offers three distance options: 50k, 16-mile, and 8-mile runs. The course features scenic and challenging terrain through high grassy meadows and granite cliffs ranging from 8,100 to over 10,000 feet elevation.

The event has a combined runner capacity of 250 and includes well-stocked aid stations, finisher medals, and gender-specific race shirts. Held in December, weather can vary widely, with snow and cold conditions possible, and traction devices are permitted. The start/finish is at the Ranch Hand Group Picnic Area. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
