Sawmill Trail Runs
The Sawmill Trail Runs is an annual trail running event held at Staunton State Park in Pine, Colorado, approximately 40 miles southwest of Denver. The race offers three distance options: 8-Mile, 16-Mile, and 50k, with a combined runner capacity of 250. The course features scenic and challenging terrain ranging from high grassy meadows at 8,100 feet to granite cliffs over 10,000 feet, showcasing diverse geology and wildlife.
The event takes place in early December, with unpredictable winter weather that may include snow, rain, or cold temperatures. Traction devices and snowshoes are permitted if conditions require. Participants receive gender-specific race shirts and finisher medals, with well-stocked aid stations along the course.
