About the race
The Sawmill Trail Runs take place at Staunton State Park in Pine, Colorado, under the Human Potential Running Series. The 8th annual event offers three distances: 50k, 16-Mile, and 8-Mile, with a combined cap of 250 runners. Start/finish is at the Ranch Hand Group Picnic Area, and the course is a scenic, challenging mix of high meadows and granite cliffs above 8,000 feet.
All finishers receive a medal, with additional recognitions such as DFL, Transcendence, and an Ugly Holiday Sweater award. Winter conditions may apply; traction devices and snowshoes are permitted. The race emphasizes inclusion, stocked aid stations, and a self-reliant, adventurous atmosphere. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
