About the race
The Mogadishu Mile is a memorial running event held in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania. It features two offerings: a standard 4-Miler and a 4-Miler Ruck with a 25-pound weight requirement. Described as a 4+-mile race, the course is anchored at the Lock Haven VFW on East Water Street.
The event commemorates the 1993 Battle of Mogadishu, part of Operation Gothic Serpent, noting that the battle unfolded on October 3–4, 1993. This race blends fitness with remembrance, honoring the sacrifice and fortitude of service members who fought in Somalia. Participants may choose to run or participate in the ruck option.
