About the race
The Poultry in Motion; Waco Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot is a festive running event held in downtown Waco, Texas, featuring a USATF-certified 5K timed run/walk and a non-timed 1-mile fun run/walk. The event welcomes participants of all ages, including a kids' untimed run for those 10 and under and a relaxed "Who's Your Side Dish?" untimed option. Runners receive cotton blend short-sleeved shirts if registered by the mid-November deadline.
The race course starts near Indian Spring Park and the Waco Suspension Bridge. Additional festivities include a pie-eating contest and awards for top finishers and best Thanksgiving-themed costumes.
