Course and logistics
All races use the Duncan Ridge main ridge line and nearby trails. The 200 Miler consists of 10 traverses of the ridge (equivalent to five full laps) between Vogel State Park and Skeenah Gap; outbound traverses include a Wolf Creek river crossing and inbound routing uses Forest Service Roads 108/107 to Burnett Gap (Hwy 180). Only full laps count for the 200M. The 100 Miler and 100K use combinations of full and half traverses of the same ridge system. The 40 Miler involves two full traverses; the 40K is an out-and-back to Mulky Gap starting and finishing at the Group Shelter. The Coosa Challenge (added in 2025) is a 25 km course that traverses both sides of Coosa Mountain and typically takes about four hours.
Support locations include Vogel State Park, Fire Pit, a Dragon Locker (when available), Mulky Gap and Skeenah Gap. Crew is allowed with one vehicle per runner; placards are required for Bryant Gap and Mulky Gap access and larger vehicles may be restricted after vehicle inspection. Parking at Georgia State Parks is $5 per day or by annual pass. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
